Kinkakuji & Uzumasa

There is a sightseeing route heading west from the famed golden pavilion of Kinkakuji that takes visitors to Ryoanji Temple and Ninnaji Temple. It is rather plain compared to the approach leading up to Kiyomizudera, but especially in fall, …morewalking along the path while enjoying the view of the mountains turned red by the maple leaves is quite the pleasant experience.
In between visiting the exquisite temples, you may want to stop by the Insho Domoto Museum of Fine Arts to enjoy the building’s unique design and follow the tracks of the Inshou left on many of the screen paintings at temples and shrines.
The Toei Kyoto Studio Park samurai-movie theme park reproduces an Edo period townscape where you can enjoy becoming one of the townspeople from that era or even a ninja.
