Homey and lovely cafe where you can make yourself comfortable with a superb burger
Located at Senbon-Kitaoji, a popular town for students, Cafe Machiko is always the favorite place of local people wishing to relax there on their own ways. The concept of the cafe is a private room of a girl who has been travelling all over the world. Lords of books, pictures, goods are decorated in the cafe as if they are souvenirs from various parts of the world she has visited. They provide burger, pasta, Japanese local food, such as Karaage (fried chicken) and others. You could stay in the cafe as long as you want; even sleeping is allowed if you order main meal at least. There is a variety of chairs and sofas and you could choose your favorite one to seat as long as there are just few people there. Manga, guide books and photographs are available and you could also display your own photos. This is the place where memories during your trip in Kyoto would be held.

Hard taste of meat and pepper are advantage. Buns are a bit sweet so I would recommend having it without any seasonings. It comes along with salad, chips and soup of the day (1D +¥150).

No need to say! It is absolutely dynamic! Juicy and jumbo fried chicken with mayonnaise must be a high-calorie combination. If you are feeling hungry during your sightseeing, pop in the café and have a bite of the chicken to instantly fill your energy up.

Be careful when you order it as a desert after having lunch. Please believe me that its volume is extremely unbelievable. Aroma of Matcha, powdered green tea, will be spread out in your mouth lightly. Having red beans and Matcha ice cream with the pancake makes the taste better and stronger.

If your stomach is not empty, you can have some more rice free of charge for your set meal. Ask a staff; "Okawari wo Kudasai" I would like another bowl of rice.

This café has a nice hippey or college-like feeling, and they have a great number of books for you to read. This is the kind of café where you could spend quite a while, just reading or studying. Just as a word of warning, their hamburger buns are very soft and at least the one I had was also a bit soggy.
