Listen to classical music while enjoying coffee and cakes
A white-walled café by the riverside. The building’s European-style design has been designated a national cultural asset. It is popular with a wide age group, including seniors as well as many young women among its customers. Classical music plays inside. The stained glass windows, antique chairs, and Chagall paintings create a stylish and relaxed atmosphere. It is a good place to have coffee and cake, or light fare such as toast, while enjoying an elegant time.
Coffee(fresh cream or black)
Coffee(fresh cream or black) / ¥600
We recommend the fresh cream. The slight bitterness and acidity of the coffee goes well with the mild sweetness of fresh cream. It comes with two sugar cubes.
Sachertorte(chocolate cake filled with apricot jam)
Sachertorte(chocolate cake filled with apricot jam) / ¥750
A cake accented with the tartness of apricot jam. A popular menu item along with the Raw cheese cake.
Cheese toast(with mini salad)

Cheese toast(with mini salad) / ¥750
Thick slices of toast are topped with loads of soft-textured cheese. It is divided into 6 pieces, making it easy to eat.
Gateau francois(maple or honey)
4Let's Try!
Gateau francois(maple or honey) / ¥450
The café’s own original cake, which includes the name of the café in its name. It is coated with a not-too-sweet syrup. Enjoy the dense texture.
How to Order

It is famous for its delicious cakes, so you should either order a cake by itself or the CAKE SET (a set that includes cake and coffee or black tea). If you are hungry, we recommend ordering TOAST or a SANDWICH.

- Order Tips -
The cakes are somewhat small. If you visit this café in a pair, you should order two different cakes and share them.

This café looks retro from inside and outside, and it makes you feel nostalgic. Their sandwiches and toasts are very big, so they are great to share with friends. This place is open quite late for a café, and they sell alcoholic beverages, so you can enjoy a drink and cake and chatter away.

This café feels retro, entering it you almost feel like you were back in the Showa period, even the music is classical: you are back in the good olden times of Japan. They are most famous for their omelet sandwich, which is served to you piping hot, with the simple combination of cheese and soft omelet. The taste is surprisingly delicious! If you happen to be in Gion, consider having some afternoon tea here.
