Machiya(townhouse)-style cafe by the Kamo River where you can enjoy dining all day
KAWA CAFE is located near the Kyoto entertainment districts of Gion and Kawaramachi. The spacious wooden building is in the Machiya (traditional wooden town house) style. The large windows offer a view of the Kamo River, allowing you to enjoy the splendid seasonal scenery while you dine. The bistro-style menu includes quiches, pizza, and more. There is also a plentiful variety of alcoholic beverages on offer, such as wine, beer, and whiskey. For lunch, we recommend the set menu, which includes dessert and coffee. It is open non-stop from 10 AM to midnight. In addition to dining, you can also just stop by to take a break with coffee or drinks. Spend your time enjoying the airy interior any way you like.
Quiche and Salad-Lorrine:Bacon,Onion

Quiche and Salad-Lorrine:Bacon,Onion / ¥1,150
The fluffiness of the eggs and the crispiness of the crust are the main attractions of this quiche. The sweetness of the eggs, the richness of the cheese, and the savoriness of the bacon create a perfect harmony in your mouth. You can tell the salad is made with fresh vegetables from the crisp texture.
Vegetarian Pizzas

Vegetarian Pizzas / ¥1,150
This pizza is topped with a variety of vegetables. It is baked to perfection. The toppings include broccoli, corn, onion, and olives. The gentle sweetness of the tomatoes is a key point. The crust is this, but it has a chewy texture.
Dessert and Coffee or Tea

Dessert and Coffee or Tea / ¥500
You can add this to your entree order for ¥500 extra. The dessert is mini-sized, so even if you are a little full, you should still be able to find room for it The dessert shown in the photo is the Chocolate Tart. The mildly sweet chocolate is complemented well by the sweet and sour berry sauce. *You can choose from the following desserts. Pear Tart/Chocolate Tart/Cheese Cake/Mixed Berry Tart/Ice Cream
How to Order

There are menus that have both English and Japanese, and there are also French menus. In addition to lunch time, you can also go for dessert and coffee at tea time, or enjoy and entree with drinks in the evening.

- Order Tips -
For the food menu, you can add french fries, or for an extra ¥500, you can get draft beer or wine as part of the set. If you want something sweet, we recommend the pancakes, crepes, tarts, cakes, and ice cream.

This is a trendy café close to the Kamogawa River. To get to the café you have to walk through a narrow alley, so I felt my heart flutter when I entered the café. In summer they have a "yuka" terrace on the river where you can sip on your coffee while you watch the Kamogawa River flow by.

I recommend the seats near the big windows! You can relax and watch the Kamo River go by right in front of your eyes. At lunch and dinner time, a big, cute heron appears on the terrace outside the windows! He comes for the food given to them by the staff. It is named Napoleon. If your timing is right, you might get to meet him!
