Enjoy Matcha and wagashi from established shops affordably inside the Kyoto Station building
You can enjoy matcha and wagashi at this shop on the second floor of the building directly connected with Kyoto Station. Look for the wooden latticework and shop curtain. The matcha is from veteran Kyoto tea seller "Marukyu-Koyamaen". You can choose your favorite wagashi from a selection from five established sweets shops located in Kyoto. It is recommended for people who do not have the time to go to the wagashi shops scattered around town. You should also check out the occasional matcha-making lessons.

- Order Tips -
If you are not fond of matcha, you can just order wagashi. We also recommend the matcha-flavored ice cream.

At this long-established café you can taste traditional Japanese sweets and matcha tea. The traditional Japanese sweets change according to season, and all go really well with the subdued sweetness of matcha tea, and I hope you will try some of them. This cafe is inside Kyoto station so if you get tired when shopping you can take a break here.
