Try out Sashimi and Chirashi Sushi at a reasonable price
Sushi Yoshizuki is a popular restaurant among both locals and tourists located in Kamishichiken, a beautifully stone-paved district near Kitano Tenmangu. Both counter seats and table seats are available inside, and if you’d like to watch the sushi chef preparing your meal we recommend sitting at the counter. Set menus made with fresh seafood bought every day from the local market are on offer for lunch, with which guests can enjoy both sashimi — made from tuna, squid, shrimp, and so on — and chirashi sushi (ingredients laid on the top of a bowl of sushi rice) at the same time. The desserts, which the sushi chef has learned to make while once working in a French restaurant, are also delicious. The set menus are both generously portioned and reasonably priced at either ¥1,300 or ¥1,800.
Chawan mushi set meal / ￥1,800
Contains nine kinds of sashimi, chirashi sushi, chawan mushi, a red miso soup, and a dessert. The just-right vinegar flavor of the chirashi sushi is a perfect match for the sweet and savory flavors of the fresh sashimi. You can really savor the sweet flavor of the eggs in the chawan mushi. Best enjoyed while drinking the robustly-flavored miso soup. *The sashimi being served changes daily. *Chawan mushi is a steamed egg custard with assorted ingredients.
Set meal / ￥1,300
Contains seven kinds of sashimi, chirashi sushi, miso soup made with red miso, and a dessert. This set contains a little less than the Chawan mushi set meal, but it should still be plenty for women and children.
The sushi chef’s recommended way to eat chirashi sushi / -
Take one piece of sashimi, apply a little soy sauce and wasabi, place on top of the chirashi sushi and eat! This allows you to enjoy the flavors together with the soy sauce, without being too overpowering. It’s also good to try two or three pieces of sashimi at a time as well — the complex flavors of the seafood blend together perfectly in the mouth.
How to Order
- Order Tips -
If there are two of you, we recommend ordering the chawan mushi set meal and the set meal to share. As for drinks, the restaurant serves beer, sake, shochu, and wine.
