The shop is easy to access as it is located in Kyoto Station. Stop by here when you pass for a colorful sugar confectionery collection. Hard to believe that the shop behind IRODORI is a long-standing over 200 year old confectionery store. Its very much modern Japanese style confectionery shop!
Colorful sugar confectioneries are visually cute and great for gifts. Cutting the Kohakutou into pieces and place them on a plate is a wonderful way to serve it.
Recommend !
Kohakutou / 10 pieces ¥1,080
The texture of these sugar candies will give you a surprise. At first glance, it seems to be a box of hard candies, however the inside is gelatinized sugar candy with agar and herbal flavors that induces relaxations such as jasmine, chamomile, and lavender.
Recommend !
Ariheitou / 5 pieces ¥540
These are colorful hard candies designed as an image of notable areas of Kyoto such as Gion, Nishijin, and Uji. Using fine sugar, these are sweet and artful candies.
Check it out !
Monaka / 5 pieces ¥1,080
Monaka are light wafers filled with sweet red bean jam. Great for gift giving! Also available are Monaka making-kit which comes with three different fillings that you could sandwich with wafers on your own. Monaka are also available to order in the café.
How to buy
The items are wonderfully displayed and easy to look around.
