Although the headquarter of this shop is in southern part of Kyoto called Uji City, this shop is easy to access as it is in Karasumaoike close to Nijo Castle. Please visit there when you go to Nijo Castle!

High quality Japanese teas close to Nijo Castle
Established around 1700, Marukyu-Koyamaen has been offering the high quality Uji tea for people in Japan and also for foreign guests. Their teas are all made consistently in their tea fields, factories and shops. Through these careful cultivation and strict standard of making tea, their teas have been repeatedly awarded and received honors. When you enter this shop, you may notice the sophisticated atmosphere and may be amazed by their Omotenashi, the hospitality. Not only Japanese tea, but desserts made with Matcha are available in this shop. If you have any questions about teas and desserts, please feel free to ask the staff!
