As a transportation hub, Kyoto Station offers services that are very useful especially for travelers. Multiple bus routes, city subway, JR Train, and Kintetsu Train all reach to this station. You will benefit from knowing these services and make your trip much more convenient! It’s also a great place to start on your exploration of Kyoto City by gathering information and getting ready to head out to wonderful temples, sceneries, and shops Kyoto has to offer. Get anticipated to make some great memories during your trip.

Bus Stop
Kyoto City Bus stop is located on the central entrance of Kyoto Station (Kyoto Tower side). You will notice it if you can spot the Kyoto Tower as its located right across the street. There are several different bus routes so please check the monitor or ask the staff to identify which bus to get on. There are also information center and a machine to buy a one-day pass nearby. The one day bus pass, which costs 500 yen per day, is great if you want to hop on and off around the city by bus. You can reach popular spots by the city bus such as Kinkaku-ji, Ginkaku-ji, and Arashiyama.

Subway
You can reach the subway station from underground. The underground shopping mall, Porta, is connected to the subway station. The underground passageway is also connected with Yodobashi Camera and Isetan CUBE area. From Kyoto Station, the subway Karasuma Line runs vertically while Tozai Line runs perpendicularly intersecting at Oike Station. If you are heading to Shijo, take this subway from Kyoto Station, it’s only two stops away.
