Japan is full of fun places to go to, and convenience stores are no exception. The sparkling clean shelves full of inviting products at Lawson, 7-11, and Family Mart all invite you to try the treats, and what’s important is that they are all delicious! If you want delicious sweets, you don’t need to go to a department store or line up for a famous café; you can get them at any of the convenience stores you can find all over Japan! Here is my definite list for the best convenience store sweets of 2017
The cream between the soft crepe layers melts right in your mouth, and the soft, fine texture of the cake makes it so good it’s almost better than the ones you get from a bakery! It won’t turn hard when left in the freezer, the cream is not too sweet, and you won’t get bored of the taste. Put this cake on your Japan shopping list so you can eat delicious cake without having to line up!
This thick, strong tasting cheesecake is bound to be a hit among cheesecake lovers. You can taste lemon in the cake, which makes the fragrance very appealing and the taste refreshing.
The cookie crust also tastes authentic, it is crisp and there is a slight saltiness to the taste.
On the outer side you have layers of chestnut cream, inside there is whipped that tastes rather refreshing, not fatty, and then you get to the chestnut that is on top of a sponge cake base,
which makes the whole cake just melt in your mouth, the texture almost resembling that of pudding.
There is even a bit of rum in it!
