[Onigiri Rice Ball]

1Kita -喜多-

These “Tenmusu” are Onigiri rice balls topped with Tempura, hand made by a chef who studied at the Famous Japanese restaurant "Gion Sakagawa" in Gion.

The Tenmusu, with their made-for-each-other fluffy, copper Hagama cooked rice and carefully selected seasonal ingredients have a quality that reflects the chef's abilities and a flavor you can't get anywhere else.

As the Tempura is first dipped in sauce, it's moist and goes deliciously with the well suited rice.

The Tenmusu are slightly smaller than ordinary Onigiri rice balls, so they are perfect as a snack when drinking or when you are a little hungry.

3Seimaijo Cafe Fujiwara Rice Shop

At Seimaijo Cafe Fujiwara Rice Shop, which is managed by someone whose main job is a rice dealer; you can enjoy Onigiri rice balls made with simply good rice.

As the rice used in the adorably round, handmade Onigiri is high quality, it has the special quality of being able to be enjoyed cold too.

Not only the rice, but they are particular about the ingredients they use as well. For the dried plum, they use homemade dried Umeboshi plums.

The "only sometimes made" Ohagi (made by steaming glutinous rice mixed rice, rolling it into a ball so the rice grains remain intact and packing azuki paste around it) are deliciously sweet with a faint natural sweetness from the rice.
