Story & Recommendation
Enjoy fresh seafood at a long-standing Kyoto restaurant while waiting for the Shinkansen
On the third floor of "EAT PARADISE in front of JR west exit wicket" in Kyoto Station is Japanese restaurant, Hashitate. Hashitate's signature dish is its seafood donburi, or rice bowl. We recommend the restaurant's set meals, which come with miso soup and a few other dishes. Hashitate's run by "Wakuden," a long-standing Kyoto restaurant, so you can be sure that all the ingredients will be fresh and delicious. The restaurant also serves matcha green tea and Wagashi (Japanese Sweets), which you can after your meal. Hashitate is super conveniently located and a great place to grab a bite to eat before hopping on the buttle train.

How to Order

If you want noodles instead of rice, we recommend one of the mixed sets that contains a rice bowl and a noodle bowl. There is no menu in English, so you can rely on the photos and pick which one you find most delicious.

- Order Tips -

・You can order your donburi with a small, medium or large quantity of rice. Hearty eaters may like the medium or large option, while those with smaller stomachs may want to opt for the small.
・It is also recommended to buy a menu item that can be taken out and eat it in the hotel or on the Shinkansen bullet train.
