Well-balanced Japanese cuisine made with high-quality ingredients
IZAMA is located in an office complex, near Karasuma Oike station, where they offer super high-quality, original Japanese cuisine made with seasonal ingredients for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. IZAMA offer reasonable meal sets, especially at lunchtime. The one we recommend most is the nine kinds of Obanzai (Kyoto-style home-made cooking) set. Its vibrant colors are sure to do something wicked to your appetite. The nine side dishes are each served in small bowls, giving you the ability to enjoy a massive range of Obanzai at the same time. Although IZAMA’s offers unique dishes, they are still accessible enough that even people who aren’t too familiar with Japanese cuisine can enjoy them. Every aspect of IZAMA has been carefully put together by experts who represent Japan in each of their fields, including the cuisine, interior, and more. IZAMA is a great place to relax and enjoy incredible Japanese cuisine in a beautiful space with chilled-out vibes away from the hustle and bustle on Kyoto’s business district.
Nine Kinds of OBANZAI Set / ￥1,800
The Nine Kinds of OBANZAI Set comes with nine different Japanese dishes, each served in small bowls, together with a small side of Soba noodles. The spring menu pictured above featured a Japanese omelet, cherry blossom mochi, and an interesting tempuraed version of Yatsuhashi, a well-known Kyoto sweet. The Hirano Tofu is made with Kyoto groundwater to bring out the sweetness of the beans further. This set is not as large as it looks, so small eaters won’t have anything to worry about. Drop in to IZAMA and try all shades of Kyoto cuisine.
Soba Noodles and Vegetable Tempura / ￥1,200
Both the crispy vegetable tempura and Soba noodles are mains in this set! The vegetables that make up the tempura are fried as is, giving way for their natural flavors to really stand out. The fantastic smelling Soba noodles are soft and smooth and go down like a dream.
Tai no Yakuzen / ￥1,800
This healthy sea bream set features sashimi sea bream with three kinds of seasonings, chopped nuts, sesame soy sauce, and a special sour dressing. We recommend that you try the sashimi with each of these seasonings first. With the chopped nuts, spread out the nuts on sea bream and roll it up before eating. When you eat half of your meal, a staff member will bring you a pot of Chinese herb soup. Place the sashimi on the rice and pour the soup over it to make Ochazuke (Japanese rice with tea). This combination of the naturally nutritional sea bream and Chinese herb soup is excellent for your health.
