Story & Recommendation
Enjoy a high quality and delicious specialty, Saba sushi, served as a set with sushi of your choice
A sushi restaurant with approximately 100 years of history, located opposite Yasaka Shrine. The interior of the restaurant is furnished with wooden walls, tables, and chairs, and adorned with a number of decorations that create a traditional Japanese atmosphere. Its specialty dish is Saba sushi. Saba sushi is a type of sushi that has been well loved in Kyoto since the olden times. It is made by placing mackerel pickled in vinegar on top of vinegar-flavored rice. There are many sushi restaurants that serve saba sushi in Kyoto. From among these, IZUJU's Saba sushi is known to feature delicious mackerel with a high quality flavor. The kelp that surrounds the sushi helps to highlight its delicious flavor even more. The mackerel is cut into thick strips to provide a superb texture, and as soon as you bite into it you will be able to feel the fat of the mackerel spreading deliciously around your mouth. In addition, apart from Saba sushi, the restaurant also offers Inari sushi and warm Steamed sushi. We also recommend ordering a set of saba sushi combined with sushi of your choice.

Saba sushi
Saba sushi / ¥2,350/6 pieces (+tax)
Enjoy the delicious fat of the mackerel pickled with the perfect amount vinegar - and with no raw fish smell whatsoever. Take a close look at its beautiful cross section. As it already has plenty of flavor, we recommend eating it without any soy sauce. Peel off the kelp on the outside before eating it.

Inari sushi
Inari sushi / ¥750/5 pieces (+tax)
A dish with sushi pieces featuring fried tofu made from domestic soy beans, filled with vinegar-flavored rice. The vinegar-flavored rice is mixed with yuzu citrus fruit, burdock root, and hempseed. The crunchy texture of the hempseed is a great characteristic of this dish. This dish can be ordered even with just one piece. * Not available during July to Sep.

Sasamaki sushi
Sasamaki sushi / ¥1,250/5 pieces (+tax)
This sushi features the white meat of a small sea bream sitting on top of vinegar-flavored rice, wrapped in an aromatic bamboo leaf. This sushi is not only delicious, but it also gives you great happiness and relief. Its small size makes it very easy to eat.
