Various kinds of all-you-can-eat Japanese pickles with Saikyo-zuke fish

However, it is almost impossible to taste all kinds of Japanese pickles little bit at a time as shops usually sell a big pack of pickles. This restaurant “Kamado Takitate Gohan Doi” has “tabeho-dai”, all-you-can-eat offer for Japanese pickles, so that you can taste them as much as you want! 7 kinds of Japanese pickles are usually offered during the lunch time and you may enjoy the different sorts of tastes. They also offer several kinds of Obanzai, Kyoto-style home cooking, in a buffet style. “Teishoku”, the Japanese meal set, would be served during the lunch and dinner times. You may find the different flavors in your “Teishoku” as you eat together with various kinds of Japanese pickles.
Spanish mackerel pickled in sweet Kyoto-style miso set meal
This meal set is the most popular dish in this restaurant! Fish is pickled in sweet Kyoto-style miso called Saikyo-zuke and baked carefully and nicely. It is sweet but also a bit sour, and it goes well with rice. We recommend that you put dried young sardines called “Chirimen-jako” on your rice. It is seasoned by “sansho” seasoning which is a bit spicy and refreshing, and you may find the new taste every bite. Please try to eat with Japanese pickles which you can pick at the all-you-can-eat bar.

During the lunch time, about 7 kinds of Japanese pickles made in Ohara where is famous for nature and agriculture are offered. They are well pickled and not even too salty. You may enjoy them both by their tastes and their looks as they are fresh and colorful. They all go well with rice and any set meals.
Tsukemono tempura meal set
In this meal set there are five seasonal tsukemono made into tempura. In this simple tempura you can taste the quality of the ingredients, and the batter of the tempura tastes so good you don’t need to add anything. Of course, you can also enjoy the tsukemono buffet with this meal set, so this is a chance to fully enjoy tsukemono.
Kamado Takitate Gohan Doi is famous for their shibazuke, or Kyoto-style chopped vegetables pickled in salt with red shiso leaves, croquettes. Inside the crispy croquette you can, of course, find their most famous product, shibazuke, and potato. At first, you may think that shibazuke and croquettes don’t go together that well, but the sweetness of the potato and the refreshing sourness of the shibazuke actually go together really well and the taste is mild. This is my recommendation. One croquette is only 200 so that’s a plus too.
