Smooth and healthy! Fresh ice cream made with kinako
In the middle of Gion there is a stone-paved street by the name of Hanami-koji. A nearby narrow alleyway hosts Kyo-Kinana, which specializes in ice cream made with kinako (roasted soybean flour). The kinako used in their ice cream is made from high-quality nutritious soybeans grown locally in Kyoto. There are absolutely no chemical additives such as food coloring or preservatives used in any of the ingredients. Eggs are also not used, which brings the fat content down significantly. With each healthy bite you can enjoy the mild sweetness and smooth texture of the ice cream. At the first floor counter you can have a quick taste of the ice cream freshly made on the same first floor. Those with a bit more free time and those who would like to choose items from the various menus should take a seat at a table on the 2nd floor. You can also get some ice cream for take out.
