Do you like bitter and sweet tastes ? you can enjoy both of them with matcha
Nakamura tokichi is a very popular and traditional matcha special restaurant in Uji. It will take around 30 minutes to go to Uji from the Kyoto station by JR line. I suggest to visit there early, because usually there are long lines at front of the restaurant despite before opening. Matcha dessert or matcha noodle also are available, you can visit here for a short break or lunch. In addition to delicious dishes, Japanese style yard is inside of the restaurant. It makes elegant atmosphere. Staff service is also perfect! Definitely you will spend valuable time with matcha dishes and their warm service.

Tea jelly (Matcha)

Tea jelly, matcha ice cream and sweet red beans are served with a frozen bamboo container. Jelly is glossy, dumpling and good throat. Since it is a big size, you can share it for two. The bamboo container is an exclusive offer of the main shop. It helps us to cool down during the summer season.

Bracken starch mochi (Matcha & Brown sugar syrup)

The "Warabimochi" is one of the most popular sweet in the western area of Japan. the name of "Warabimochi" comes from an edible wild plant "Warabi" (bracken) which is the raw material of "Warabimochi". Matcha powder is topped. Warabimochi is not sweet, I suggest to eat with syrup.

Matcha buckwheat noodles

Green colored noodle which is made from green tea is dipped on soup stock and mizuna and tenkasu are topped. Taste is really simple. Matcha flavor is weak, please enjoy the taste of ingredients. Radish pickles are served together. You can choose cold soba or hot soba.
