Story & Recommendation
Japanese-style pasta with specifically certified vegetables grown in Kyoto
Kyo-yasai is a group of vegetables locally grown in Kyoto and is generally used for a traditional local cuisine in Kyoto as they are very nutritious and tastefulness. Ponto-iru is famous for pasta dish with Kyo-yasai and meat such as locally grown chickens, pork and beef. This restaurant is a chain store, so you may find several stores mostly in Kyoto but also Tokyo, Osaka and some other cities in Japan. As you all know that pasta is originally from Italy but you may feel a sense of Japan as you eat pasta in Ponto-iru- probably because they use ingredients mainly grown in Kyoto. Please come visit one of the ponto-iru restaurants as you may enjoy the fusion of Italian and Japanese-style pasta

Pasta with Mochi pork grown in Kyoto and Kyo-yasai marinated with soy sauce butter
Pasta with Mochi pork grown in Kyoto and Kyo-yasai marinated with soy sauce butter / ¥1,150 (+tax)
Beautiful pasta with lots of Kyo-yasai and Mochi pork grown in Kyoto. It is marinated with soy sauce butter, so it tastes fresh at first but rich flavor lasts in your mouth. Since Kyo-yasai is chosen by the season, we had carrots, egg plants and sweet peppers at this time. They are soft and also crunchy, so we enjoyed the texture of all the vegetables. Soy sauce butter sauce is well fit with pasta and Kyo-yasai, so it was very tasty and you may feel a sense of Japan as you eat this dish!

Soymilk Carbonara with Yuba, delicacy made from the skin of gently boiled soybean milk, Oboro-konbu, a type of dried seaweed called tangle flakes and mozzarella cheese / ¥950 (+tax)
If you prefer to have something more western pasta, this is what you should order! Soymilk Carbonara sauce is richly mixed well with mozzarella cheese which makes this pasta even more flavorful. Kyoto is famous for Yuba which is made from the skin of gently boiled soybean milk. Chewy and soft texture of Yuba and melty Oboro-konbu, a type of dried seaweed go perfectly well with this rich pasta sauce.
3Let's Try!
“Ponto-chou” Set
“Ponto-chou” Set / Add ¥430 to your pasta dish
If you order any pasta, you can choose this dessert and drink set by adding ¥430. You can select your favorite drink and dessert, and salad and soup would come along. Our favorite drink is “Matcha latte” and it goes very well with dessert as it is not too sweet. Anmitsu, the Japanese dessert with sweet red beans, is our recommendation as you may enjoy both by its beautiful looks and by its sweet taste derived from red beans.

We recommend that you order pasta with “Ponto-chou” set as you may enjoy Japanese dessert and drink as well as salad and soup.
