The long-established sweets store Gion Tsujiri sells green tea and operates on two floors. It offers matcha green tea and matcha sweets made with high-quality Uji tea from Kyoto and Uji, which are famous for their green tea. The store has a clean and calm atmosphere. The menu includes parfaits and shaved ice that use matcha and syrup-covered anko (bean jam), and also has light meals such as soba. You can enjoy the delicious taste of matcha in various forms. This is a popular store that has lines all day long during weekends and holidays that can reach one hour’s wait. Therefore, it is better to visit this shop when you have some extra time.

This menu includes the famous Tsujiri's specialties, matcha green tea and sweets. Matcha is made from tea leaves carefully selected by Tsujiri, and the rich aroma and concentrated flavor of the tea leaves can be tasted. The finely whipped matcha is light and very mellow. You can choose between “Seasonal Japanese sweets” and “Shiratama dango” (sticky rice dumplings) for the sweets included in the set. The Japanese sweets change depending on the season, and many of them feature gorgeous floral motifs. Shiratama dumplings are also characterized by their chewy texture, as they are boiled by hand every day using additive-free shiratama rice flour.

In addition, the kinako soybean flour, which is roasted more deeply than usual, gives a savory aroma to the warabimochi, while brown sugar syrup adds a rich sweetness to it. It is quite easy to order. You can select a "Parfait" from the menu and choose a flavor among several toppings.
