Rice Dish with Japanese-style Curry Sauce and Tonkatsu Pork Cutlet
A restaurant specializing in set meals, established approximately 110 years ago. The exterior and interior decor of the restaurant has been left intact since the olden days. Local people have loved this restaurant for many years as a place where they can relax and enjoy a delicious lunch. The most famous item on its menu is a rice dish called Saramori. This dish is served with rice, topped with tonkatsu pork cutlet and curry sauce made with delicious Japanese-style dashi stock. This dish offers a light and refreshing taste that you will want to enjoy time and time again. This original rice dish attracts orders from many customers who are always satisfied with their delicious choice. As well as Saramori, you can also choose the famous Cyuhka-Soba, as well as other soba and udon noodle dishes. It takes less than 10 minutes from the time you place your order until you get served, and as it is close to the shopping district, it can be perfect for people who are in a rush.
A rice dish with a thick curry sauce made with delicious Japanese-style dashi stock. The perfect way to eat this dish is with rice topped with crunchy tonkatsu pork cutlets covered in plenty of the curry sauce. The highlights of this dish are the crispy spring onions and the deliciously spicy Japanese sansho pepper. Its elegant and refreshing flavor will make you want to eat everything until the end without getting bored. The sauce is slightly thick and very hot, so please take care not to burn yourself!

Cyuhka-soba is another name for ramen noodles. Its light and refreshing soup is made with soy sauce and fresh chicken stock, and the noodles are delicious thin noodles. The pepper that is sprinkled on top of this dish adds a little more impact to the flavors. Ideally you should make sure that the deliciously meaty roasted pork is soaked in plenty of the soup before you take a bite. The portions are relatively small, so we would recommend ordering the L-size for men.
Deluxe rice bowl
This is one of the most expensive menu items at Shinodaya, and for a good reason. You get almost every topping available at Shinodaya on your rice, so the portion is quite big. You have tempura, egg, meat, vegetables… delicious!
Oyako Namba udon
If you want to have udon noodles, this is a pretty nice choice. The chicken meat in the udon goes well with the egg, and all in all this dish is a solid performer. You can have better udon in Kyoto, but not for 550 yen.
