Story & Recommendation
Taking A Coffee Break While Viewing The Kamo River And Mountains From Downtown Kyoto
Kawaramachi is a Kyoto shopping district that features many thriving restaurants and souvenir shops. Close to here is the Starbucks Coffee Kyoto Sanjo Ohashi Store. Starbucks Coffee has shops all around the world, but the Kyoto Sanjo Ohashi Store has its own distinctive charms. First of all, since it is located in downtown Kyoto, it is in the perfect location to drop by while sightseeing. Many foreign tourists come to the shop, so we hope you to stop by, even if just to use it as a communication hub. Another reason is that it is located along the Kamo River. From inside of the shop, you can see the river, the Sanjo Ohashi Bridge that crosses over it, and mountains which give off a sense of Kyoto’s nature in the distance. The view is spectacular. Furthermore, from May to September, you can sit on seats called noryoyuka, which are situated on a raised platform on the river bank, so that you can enjoy the summer cool. These wooden seats are set up outside of the shop, and inherit Kyoto’s long-standing traditional culture. We hope that your try these seats, as they offer a strong sense of spaciousness. The menu features a line-up of shop staples, as well as some kinds of coffee that are only sold at some shops.

Caffe Latte
Caffe Latte / Short ¥330│Tall ¥370│Grande ¥410│Venti ¥450
This is a staple of the Starbucks Coffee menu. Steamed milk is poured into some espresso, and then the drink is topped off with milk foam. The mild sweetness of the milk is its special characteristic. It goes well with all food items on the shop’s menu. If you like, you can also try some additional options. (For example, for an extra 50 yen, you can add an extra espresso shot or caramel syrup.)
