The first tea shop that introduced a royal milk tea in Japan
Lipton is a chain tea store that has many brunches all over Japan. Lipton in Shopping Mall Kyoto Porta is located right in front of Kyoto station and it is very convenient to stop by between or after the sightseeing or shopping. If you hear the “tea house”, you may think that they only offer cake and tea. However, Lipton in Shopping Mall Kyoto Porta offers a morning set (English breakfast), lunch & dinner set such as pasta, omelet and so on. Although it is crowded due to its convenient location, the atmosphere in this restaurant is relaxing. If you would like to take a break for a while, we would recommend that you visit there!
You may be surprised by its size at a first glance! There are two kinds of jellies inside of this parfait: black tea and citrus. Both of them have a slight flavors and they match well with vanilla ice cream and whip cream coated with sweet black tea sauce. There are also sponge cakes with a black tea flavor. They are bouncy and vanilla ice cream was melting and soaked into the sponge cake.
Twins sauce omelet rice LIPTON style
If you are not familiar with a term “Omurice”, this is fired rice seasoned by ketchup and covered by omelet. Omurice is originally made in Japan when the western food culture came into Japan. There are two kinds of sauces as you can see in this picture. One of them is a demi-glace sauce and the other one is a tomato based sauce. The rice is seasoned by ketchup and omelet is a little bit sweet and soft that goes perfectly well with both of the sauces.
This menu is available only between 8am - 11am. The omelet is very soft and seasoned lightly by salt. We suggest that you eat it with beacon and sausage as they make the taste richer. The bread is nicely toasted and tea is coming along with this set. Even though it is more crowded during the day time, it is less crowded in the morning. Therefore, if you would like to enjoy the quiet time, please visit there in the morning.
Royal milk tea
It is great to note that Lipton is the first tea shop that introduced a royal milk tea to Japan. It is not sweet when served, so if you would like to make it sweeter, please put some sugar set on the table. If you order a cake, we recommend that you eat it with this royal milk tea as this tea makes any cake tastier!
