Story & Recommendation
Udon with flavorful broth inside a ryokan (Japanese-style hotel)
This udon restaurant is run by a ryokan of long standing near Yasaka Shrine. The restaurant, which seats customers in a section of the ryokan, is only open during lunchtime. You can enjoy your meal in a truly Japanese atmosphere in the tatami room near a beautiful green garden. The udon noodles are thin and soft, the soup a subtle, elegant flavor. Feel free to order a coffee or dessert after your meal and relax as long as you want at this restaurant.

Hot noodle with beef sinew
Hot noodle with beef sinew / ¥1,100
A popular item among internationals, the soft beef tendon melts in your mouth. The strong beef flavor is the perfect complement to the light udon broth.

Hot noodle with mochi(rice cake)
Hot noodle with mochi(rice cake) / ¥880
This item includes two pieces of fragrant fried mochi (rice cake). We recommend steeping the mochi in the soup so it can absorb the flavor before eating.
3Let's Try!
Hot boiled tofu
Hot boiled tofu / ¥350
Enjoy the creamy flavor and smooth texture. This tofu is best eaten together with the grated kombu (kelp).
4Let's Try!
Dried young sardines with flavor of Japanese pepper
Dried young sardines with flavor of Japanese pepper / 50g ¥550 │ 100g ¥1,000
Soft sardines with just the right amount of Japanese pepper flavor. They can be kept refrigerated for one week. We recommend keeping them in your hotel freezer while staying in Japan.
How to Order

If you have room in your stomach, order extra toppings to put on your udon (meat, mochi, pickled plum). You can also order a set which includes rice topped with chirimenzansho (baby sardines with Japanese peppers).

- Order Tips -
A large serving of udon is an extra ¥250. Also, if you want more spice, add some of the shichimi in the container on your table.
