Enjoy Italian cuisine in a western-Japanese atmosphere at Amore Kiyamachi
Amore Kiyamachi is in Kiyamachi, in a western-style building, but decorating its entrance are flowers and bonsai trees. On the first floor, the feeling is nostalgic as there are many antique items and old photos on display. Through the restaurant's big windows you get a beautiful view of the Kamo River, so eating at this restaurant is really relaxing and satisfying. The classics of this restaurant offering South-Italian cuisine are their kiln-baked pizzas and authentic Italian pasta dishes. You can choose from their lunch and dinner set meals, but they also offer many dishes on their a la carte menu. Their drinks menu offers even more choices, and they make for a great accompaniment to pizzas or appetizers. Every year from May to September they participate in the “yuka” riverside dining event, and you get to dine on a wooden terrace built on top of the river.
Prosciutto & Rucola Pizza

Prosciutto & Rucola Pizza / ¥2,400 (+tax)
This pizza is a pizza Bianca, so it’s a white pizza without tomato sauce, but it has plenty of buffalo mozzarella on it instead, and you get to enjoy the taste of the cheese. The rucola (arugula) and prosciutto on the pizza make it more fragrant, and the little amount of smokiness in the crust goes perfectly with these ingredients, making this pizza a very satisfying culinary experience to have.
Linguine pescatore siciliana

Fresh shrimp, mussels, and clamp are served with linguine, a type of pasta that is not flat, but elliptical in shape, but still full of the taste of seafood. This plate of pasta tastes refreshing and is great in summer, or after a cheesy pizza. You can also have it with tomato sauce, if you so wish.

Their lunch set is very economical! It’s sure to leave you satisfied: first, you get a salad or an appetizer, second a pizza or a pasta dish, and third, a dessert, but you also get a drink (coffee or tea)! This time we chose tomato pasta. It’s hard to even describe my satisfaction with this dish; the strong taste of cheese and tomato make it a must-eat.

The appetizer platter is very colorful and helps heighten your appetite. And the day’s dessert makes for a beautiful ending to your lunch. You also get coffee or tea, so you get to relax a bit after the lunch.

One of the most pleasant things you can do in Kyoto is to have dinner while you gaze out at the Kamo River. I can’t forget the nice taste of their pizzas; the crisp crust and the ample amount of delicious cheese. They also offer set meals, so this place is perfect for a date or just for dinner, and just enjoying the European atmosphere.

The classic Neapolitan pizzas here are baked in a kiln, so they’re very authentic. If you sit outside, you get to enjoy the view of the Kamo River, so if the weather is nice, I recommend it! In spring you get to view cherry blossoms from the restaurant and experience the different seasons of Japan.
