Story & Recommendation
Italian cuisine in a fun atmosphere right by Kyoto Station at Daniel’s Luce
Daniel’s Luce is a new restaurant located in the same building as Kyoto Tower, so it’s very easy to find. As the restaurant offers Italian food, you’ll know it by the Italian flag that’s flying outside of it, though you need to look up: the restaurant is actually located on the 4th floor. But this, of course, means that the night view from it is pretty great! The restaurant is famous for its handmade pasta, but they also have another ace up their sleeve: their beer selection on tap. They have Kirin’s offerings like Kirin Lager on tap every day, but they also have craft beers on offer. The craft beers they’re offering change seasonally so you always get to taste new and exciting beers!

Spaghetti Burrata & Basil Tomato Sauce
Spaghetti Burrata & Basil Tomato Sauce / ¥1,800 (+tax)
At Daniel’s Luce, all their pasta is handmade, and you can taste the difference. The Burrata cheese they use is imported directly from Italy, so you can be sure you’re getting the real stuff.

Daniel’s Special Sparerib
Daniel’s Special Sparerib / ¥1,280 (+tax) per rib
The way the fat in this grilled sparerib has sucked up the flavors of Daniel’s special sauce makes this dish a must-have at Daniel’s Luce. The rib is big, and full of flavor, and goes very well with a pint of Kirin Lager.
3Let's Try!
Grape Beef Sirloin Bistecca
Grape Beef Sirloin Bistecca / ¥2,980 (+tax)
This beefsteak is of very high-quality Japanese cattle whose diet is so nice that they even get to eat grapes! The taste of the beef is full of umami, and the French fries and salad you get with it make this a meal in itself.
4Let's Try!
Margherita
Margherita / ¥1,300 (+tax)
The best way to find out if a pizza place is good is to order a Margherita. And at Daniel’s Luce, their pizzas don’t disappoint: look at the amount of mozzarella you get! The dough is crispy and the cheese creamy, and Luce’s pizza gets our recommendation.

At Daniel’s Luce, they have a good selection of beers on offer on tap, including craft beers which change seasonally. One specialty of Daniel’s Luce is that their beers are a bit cheaper if you sit in a chair without a backrest.
