Located around the business district in the center of Kyoto, il pozzo offers tasty and authentic Italian cuisine in the Japanese traditional townhouse called Machiya. Many of the ingredients are imported from Italy and you may find the different tastes every time you visit this restaurant. Their different kinds of handmade pastas are exquisite with particular sources. At lunch time, there are three set menus and you can choose a la carte and also course menus at the dinner as well. Please also check out the beautiful garden in the back of the restaurant. You will surely enjoy both the taste and the relaxing atmosphere.
In this course menu, there are a plate of appetizers, focaccia, pasta, dessert and drink. The appetizers are all fresh and tasty, and the focaccia is soft that goes well with any pasta. You can choose your favorite pasta from among three selections. This time, we ordered pasta with sakura shrimp (small shrimp) and potherb. It tastes fresh as the potherb matches well with small shrimps. You may enjoy the different kinds of desserts. You can choose either coffee or tea.
This set comes along with salad, focaccia and homemade lasagna. The salad is very tasty with uncured ham. The focaccia is juicy with olive oil on top and soft inside. Homemade lasagna is flavorful with herbs mixed inside and juicy ground meat adds more aromas.
