Story & Recommendation
Eastern and western influences! New and fashionable omelet and red bean burgers at knot café!
knot café is located near the famous shrine of Kitano Tenmangu, in a building that at first sight may look like a storage unit, but inside it’s completely different, as the wooden interior warmly welcomes you to the café. The café combines the chocolate of New York’s Nunu Chocolates with the offerings of the traditional sweets shops of Kyoto such as Chogoromochi Honpo and Senbon Tamajuken, not to forget the bakery Le Petit Mec. Among their sweets, the ones that have received most acclaim have to be the omelet and red bean burgers. The coffee beans of this café come from Brooklyn, N.Y., but they also offer hojicha lattes and alcoholic drinks, among others. If the weather is nice, it would be a splendid idea to get some coffee and a burger to go from knot café, and then have a little picnic in some quiet little nook of Kyoto.

Omelet sandwich
Omelet sandwich / ¥330 (+tax)
This omelet sandwich uses hamburger buns made by Le Petit Mec, and there is some mayonnaise on the buns, which go incredibly well with the soft omelet. The omelet is not only soft but also juicy, and the slight saltiness in it makes for a very special taste.

Red bean paste and butter sandwich
Red bean paste and butter sandwich / ¥330 (+tax)
This sandwich feels surprisingly heavy on your hands, as it contains a lot of red bean paste. The saltiness in the butter balances the sweetness in the red bean paste. Every bite is full of delicious red bean paste, so this is something highly recommended to red bean paste fans.

Nunu Chocolates and Chogoromochi Honpo presents: chocolate daifuku
Nunu Chocolates and Chogoromochi Honpo presents: chocolate daifuku / ¥350 (+tax)
There is some chocolate mixed in (chocolate by Nunu Chocolates that is!) the red bean paste of this daifuku rice cake, and the tastes just seem to match together.
4Let's Try!
Nunu Chocolates and Senbon Tamajuken presents: Choco Bouro
Nunu Chocolates and Senbon Tamajuken presents: Choco Bouro / ¥250 (+tax)
The cookie in this chocolate stick is by Kyoto’s famous Senbon Tamajuken, and the chocolate by Nunu Chocolates and the chocolate stick is not too sweet, but it’s a treat for those with an adult taste in sweets.
How to Order

Although they don’t have an English menu, they have pictures on the menu and plastic models of the sandwiches by the counter, so ordering shouldn’t be too hard.
