Story & Recommendation
At the conveyor belt sushi restaurant Mori Mori Sushi Shijo-Kawaramachi you get to taste the famed seafood of Japan’s Hokuriku region in Kyoto
This conveyor belt restaurant, located on the 8th floor of the same building as the department store Marui, and as the restaurant chain originates from one of the most famous areas for seafood in Japan, Kanazawa, you can be sure that you’re getting delicious sushi. The restaurant is spacious and the lighting inside it bright, so the sushi you get looks really delectable. The most special thing however about this restaurant is that you can have sushi here that uses seafood from the Hokuriku area of Japan, such as the well-known delicacy of Nodoguro, a black-throated fatty fish that tastes absolutely magical. The fish used at this restaurant comes fresh from the fish market every morning, so the day’s offerings change every day, and this way you also get to try new and exciting sushi. The rice, vinegar, and soy sauce used at the restaurant all come from the Hokuriku area, so you can see how proud they are of their heritage. Ordering at the restaurant is done through an iPad, and it can be done in English, Korean, and Chinese, so it’s very easy. They even have a Shinkansen train shaped vessel that delivers sushi to your table; sure to be a hit among children! I’m sure you’ll have fun at this sushi restaurant in the middle of Kyoto!
