At Motion Diner Kyoto you can enjoy authentic American diner-style burgers at a movie theater
Motion Diner Kyoto is a modern American diner where you can enjoy authentic, real American burgers. While this restaurant is all about burgers, they also offer such diner classics as sandwiches, pancakes, and donuts.
The burger is big, the buns are sweet and fluffy, and the patty is made of coarsely ground meat, making it a satisfying experience. Among their burgers, I’d like to especially recommend their Kujo scallion, eggplant, and mozzarella cheeseburger. It’s something you should definitely try when in Kyoto. This restaurant offers a nice chance to enjoy American burgers made with Kyoto specialties.
The restaurant is located on the second floor of the movie theater MOVIX by the always-busy-with-tourists shopping street of Shinkyogoku. The Kamo River is also close, so if the weather is nice, you could buy a burger to go and have it by the river. The restaurant can also be recommended to families, so if you want something non-Japanese on your trip to Kyoto, remember the name Motion Diner.
Bacon Cheese Burger
This bacon cheeseburger is the most popular item on the menu. The ample amounts of cheddar and bacon are the perfect combination to have with the juicy patty.
Eggplant, scallion, and mozzarella burger
This burger offers you the taste of Kujo scallions with deep-fried eggplant, and of course mozzarella cheese. This restaurant is one of the rare places where you can enjoy authentic American burgers made with Kyoto ingredients.
Apple Gorgonzola Cheese Sandwich
This is one of their most delicious but not-that-well-known menu items. The combination of salty cheese and sweet cinnamon apple is something very addictive.
Buffalo Chicken Wings with Gorgonzola Dip
/ 10 pieces: ￥850 / 20 pieces: ￥1,600 / 40 pieces: ￥3,000
Their side menu items are, of course, also authentic. In the picture, you can see a 20 piece portion of their popular buffalo wings with gorgonzola dip. They also have alcoholic drinks, so I recommend ordering some buffalo wings with your pint.
