Story & Recommendation
Kick back with a coffee by the relaxing Takase River
murmur coffee Kyoto is a quaint café located along the bank of the beautiful tree-lined Takase River. The café’s name, murmur, comes from the sound of the rustling leaves, flowing stream and surrounding nature that makes you forget just how close you are to downtown. With both indoor and outdoor seating, you can sit back with a coffee and enjoy the sprawling greenery no matter where you sit.
murmur coffee Kyoto set themselves apart with their exclusive use of blended coffees. They offer four varieties of original blends whose flavors take inspiration from Kyoto’s unique scenic spots, such as the Kamogawa and Takase rivers.
Using six varieties of beans, murmur coffee Kyoto uses their own in-store roaster to home roast beans and create coffee packed with unique traits.
Additionally, the mugs used at murmur coffee Kyoto were made in collaboration with the Kyoto University of Art & Design. Students of the university created the mugs with the image of what it’s like to walk around the area in mind.
The mugs which were made with inspiration from Kyoto’s four seasons are deeply unique pieces that you won’t find at any other café.
So if you find yourself here, don’t forget to take in the beauty of the pieces of art that are the mugs themselves as well.
