Story & Recommendation
Enjoy the Familiar Taste of Ohsho at the Swank, Bar-like GYOZA OHSHO
With over 50 stores in Kyoto alone, Gyoza Ohsho is a chain of Chinese restaurants that are best known for their nationally recognized gyoza. Ever since the chain found its roots in the Kyoto area of Shijo Omiya in 1967, Gyoza Ohsho has become a beloved household name in Kyoto. However, the stylish GYOZA OHSHO Karasuma Oike was part of new business venture by Gyoza Ohsho that would center around the concept of “Japanese casual.” With a female designer heading the design and layout of the store and a female food expert in charge of the new menu, GYOZA OHSHO Karasuma Oike set out to offer a dining experience that keeps in mind the female perspective. With its stylish bar-like design, the interior of the restaurant offers an entirely different atmosphere from that of the aforementioned original Gyoza Ohsho. Additionally, with a great range of alcohol available, the idea of being similar to a bar extends past just the design of the restaurant. The restaurant even offers semi-private rooms near the back, which caters to those looking for a quieter, more relaxed dining experience. As for the food, in addition to the regular Gyoza Ohsho menu, GYOZA OHSHO Karasuma Oike also offers a range of nutritionally balanced, original dishes that center the concept of “good for the body, good for the soul.” Above all else, GYOZA OHSHO is an immaculately stylish restaurant that offers the same delicious flavors of their beloved parent company’s gyoza in a cool, laid back environment.
