Naritaya serves you certified 100 percent Halal beef yakiniku in Gion
It’s very difficult for our Muslim friends to find good Japanese food in Kyoto, but luckily there is a restaurant called Naritaya that offers food that is 100% halal. They only use Japanese cows and chickens in their Japanese-style BBQ, or yakiniku as it’s often called, and the restaurant strictly forbids its patrons from bringing alcohol and pork products into its premises. All the animals are slaughtered in the proper halal method of slaughter, and by the door, you get to see many certifications that proof the restaurant really only uses halal meat, and that the meat is authentic halal. The Naritaya Ramen restaurant is right next door, and customers of Halal Yakiniku Naritaya get to use the prayer room there. This restaurant is truly great for Muslims!
Special Japanese-style BBQ set (Only available for lunch)
/ ￥1.500 for one portion (+tax)
This yakiniku lunch set contains beef, chicken, thick slices of beef, and chicken sausages, and you even get some vegetables, salad, rice, and seaweed soup with it. The chicken sausage was the best part for me, it was not too greasy and the taste was rather pleasant.
Deluxe Beef Yakishabu set (Only available for lunch)
/ ￥2,000 for one portion (+tax)
These beautifully marbled deluxe beef yakishabu slices don’t need to be grilled for long – just a quick simmer on the grill and you’re done. The beef can be dipped to a special sauce containing apple puree, and this makes the taste quite new and interesting. The best way to eat this meat is to eat it with the white rice you’re served with it.
Naritaya set (Only available for dinner)
/ ￥3,000 for one portion (+tax)
If you want to have something even more luxurious, then this Naritaya set should be your choice for dinner. You get many types of meats, and especially the soft and tender chicken should satisfy even the most demanding yakiniku-fans. You also get rice, salad, and seaweed soup with the set.
Japanese beef bowl set
/ ￥1,200 (+tax)
You get a bowlful of rice, which is topped with an ample amount of beef and onion, and it’s so good it’s hard to put the bowl down once you start. You also get salad and seaweed soup with the bowl, so the taste is not at all greasy. It was my first time tasting a beef bowl like this.
