Story & Recommendation
Eat seasonal fruit at their very best chosen by a master fruit picker at Fruit Parlor Yaoiso
Close to Shijo Omiya Station, you can find a fruit shop loved by the locals, called Yaoiso. By walking east from Yaoiso, after passing four buildings, you’ll get to see Fruit Parlor Yaoiso, a café specializing in fruits and run by the same company behind the fruit shop Yaoiso.
The best part about Fruit Parlor Yaoiso has to be that at it you get to eat fruit at its absolute best, chosen by seasoned fruit pickers. Everything here is as good as expected from Yaoiso; the fruits are at their absolute best, just ripe enough, but not too ripe, and their classics, the fruit sandwich, and fruit parfait, are delectable.
As this fruit parlor is most famous for its fruit sandwich, they sell many seasonal variations of it. In summer they have mango and peach; in autumn persimmon and apple; in winter strawberries: each season has its own seasonal fruits.
On weekends there is often a line of Japanese couples and young women in front of the fruit parlor, but you can also buy fruit sandwiches to go. In Kyoto, if you say fruits, people think of Yaoiso. So I wish you too will have a chance to taste the fruits of Yaoiso!
