Eat seasonal fruit at their very best chosen by a master fruit picker at Fruit Parlor Yaoiso
Close to Shijo Omiya Station, you can find a fruit shop loved by the locals, called Yaoiso. By walking east from Yaoiso, after passing four buildings, you’ll get to see Fruit Parlor Yaoiso, a café specializing in fruits and run by the same company behind the fruit shop Yaoiso. The best part about Fruit Parlor Yaoiso has to be that at it you get to eat fruit at its absolute best, chosen by seasoned fruit pickers. Everything here is as good as expected from Yaoiso; the fruits are at their absolute best, just ripe enough, but not too ripe, and their classics, the fruit sandwich, and fruit parfait, are delectable. As this fruit parlor is most famous for its fruit sandwich, they sell many seasonal variations of it. In summer they have mango and peach; in autumn persimmon and apple; in winter strawberries: each season has its own seasonal fruits. On weekends there is often a line of Japanese couples and young women in front of the fruit parlor, but you can also buy fruit sandwiches to go. In Kyoto, if you say fruits, people think of Yaoiso. So I wish you too will have a chance to taste the fruits of Yaoiso!
Small Kudzu Combo

Small Kudzu Combo / ¥1,188
This set is called kudzu combo because under those little pieces of fruit you have kudzu jelly, which you can also upgrade to kudzu jelly and ice cream for an additional 108 yen. You also get three pieces of fruit sandwich and fruit juice in this set, so quite a lot.
Royal Fruit Sandwich

Royal Fruit Sandwich / ¥1,080
They have three different fruit sandwiches: normal, special, and royal. In the picture, you can see the royal one, which uses the most luxurious fruits of the season, in this case, strawberry, cantaloupe, mango, and papaya.

Fruit Parfait / ¥702
The fruit parfait is another classic at Yaoiso. The simple combination of ice cream and fruits is just as you’d expect from a fruit specialty shop such as Yaoiso.

Everyone in Kyoto knows the fruit shop Yaoiso. This shops’ products are something I wish you will try at least once when you come to Kyoto. The combination of the not-too-sweet whipped cream and the bread with its little bit of saltiness make the fruits stand out even more. This fruit parlor is sure to offer an unforgettable taste of fruit to the weary traveler!

The whipped cream is not too sweet, the fruits are juicy, and these two things go together absolutely perfectly! The fruits are all very sweet and have a nice texture! You can enjoy seasonal fruit here. I want to recommend eating freshly made sandwiches at the fruit parlor, but you can also buy them to go too.
