Lovely Omotenashi from Maiko and Geiko in Kamishichiken Beer Garden
If you are not familiar with the term “Omotenashi”, this is the hospitality that Japanese people are proud of. The Beer Garden opens only during summertime and many people visit to have a nice time with their colleagues and friends while enjoying a beer. What is different from a regular beer garden is that there are about six Maiko and Geiko each night to entertain and show their hospitality to the guests. As Kamishichiken is located in a calm area in Kyoto, you may enjoy a tranquil time with Maiko and Geiko. The event is held from July 1st to September 5th.

When you imagine the face of Maiko and Geiko, it is probably the image of white-painted faces. However, their faces in this beer garden are not white-painted but their hair and outfit are the same as you may imagine. Although Maiko and Geiko don’t speak English, they will show you their delicate Omotenashi.
