1Highlight

Description of Japanese Garden at Nanzen-ji Temple
Nanzenji Temple has three gardens. However, it is quite difficult to read what thoughts were behind the creation of the garden and what it expresses. It would be a great waste to come all the way here only to leave without understanding.
We will explain what the differences are between each of the three gardens and the methods used to create them, along with the historical background of when the gardens were created.
2Highlight

Description of Japanese Garden at Konchi-in Temple
Kare-sansui (dry landscape) gardens at Konchi-in will be explained as well as the gardens at Nanzen-ji Temple. The stones in this garden are placed far from where you see the garden, so it is difficult to understand what is so wonderful about this garden without a commentary. We'll be sure to talk about its charms, so stay tuned!
By listening to the explanations while viewing the gardens of the two temples, you will learn how to enjoy the basics of Japanese gardens. We encourage you to use what you learned on the tour to view the gardens at other locations as well.
3Let's join!

Drinking matcha green tea while viewing the waterfall
Before going to Konchi-in Temple, have a cup of green tea at Nanzen-ji Temple. At Nanzenji Temple, you can drink matcha green tea while viewing the waterfall.
At this time, those who have questions about the Japanese garden can ask the gardener directly. We hope you will actively ask questions and make this a meaningful time to deepen your understanding of Japanese gardens!
