Setsubun events are held on February 3th, the highlight is Oni dance which will start 3pm at the Rozan temple. Red ONI (demon covered mask) who has a sword, blue Oni who has an ax and black oni who has a hammer appear at the stage in front of the main hall and they are coming into the hall while dancing. Ritual to rebel bad spirits and long life takes place in the hall. Red, blue and black Oni are trying to prevent that ritual, but they are repulsed by throwing beans at them and rice cake and so on. Rozan temple’s beans are unique. It is covered with red or white color sugar, and they help you live long. Approximately 1000 people are coming to the Rozan-temple for this event every year.
