Story & Recommendation
A huge turnout! The monthly bargain-hunt
The To-ji Kobo Market takes place at the To-ji temple—near Kintetsu railway Kyoto Line To-ji Station—on the 21st of every month. Although To-ji is most famous for its five-story pagoda, on the 21st of every month, around 1,000 textile and antique stalls, selling ceramics and crockery, and food stalls gather at the temple. Huge crowds of visitors also gather there as well. This market has been loved by the people of Kyoto for over 700 years. Feel free to come and get a good deal on some of your favorite things, or even just enjoy a wander around the market. You might just find the bargain you were looking for.
