Kamishichiken Teahouse Play (Main Experience)
Kamishichiken, Kyoto's oldest geisha district, stretches along the eastern
approach to Kitano Tenmangu Shrine.
Even today, all teahouses do not admit first-time customers without an
introduction. We will reserve one of the prestigious teahouses in
Kamishichiken for you. Enjoy the performance by maiko, geiko, and local
dancers, and experience authentic Kyoto culture up close. After the
dance, play parlor games with maiko!

Course A : Japanese Traditional Dance Experience + Teahouse Play Experience
This is a special Japanese traditional dance experience held at the well-established restaurant "Kurosuke" in Kamishichiken, which has been reserved exclusively for this purpose.
The instruction is provided by the head of the Murasakiha Fujima-ryu School, who is a master of the Fujima-ryu style that has been taught to many kabuki actors.
You'll enjoy a fun lesson that will have you dancing Japanese traditional dances with simple choreography in a short time, learning the basic movements. It will be a good opportunity to adopt an alluring and graceful posture, and learn elegant and powerful movements.
The tour price starts at 149,000 yen.

Course B: Nishijin Cultural Tourism + Teahouse Play Experience
You can have a conversation at the workshop of the globally renowned
gold leaf craft artist, Mr. Rakusho Hiroto, and experience weaving at the
Nishijin Textile Center! The Gold Leaf Application Experience allows you
to experience the thinness and delicacy of gold leaf. You can write your
favorite characters on a black paper with adhesive and then apply the
gold leaf to it. The items you create can be taken home as they are.
Mr. Hiroto Rakusho
Hiroto Rakusho was born in Kyoto in 1962. He apprenticed with his
father, Jisaku Nishiyama, winner of the City of Kyoto Award for
Outstanding Technical Contribution to Traditional Handicrafts, and was
certified by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as a Master of
Traditional Handicrafts in 1997. He has worked to expand metal leaf
design as an art form, collaborating with artists and students from
diverse backgrounds in Japan and abroad. Since 2005, he has held three solo shows, two in Kyoto museums and one in New York.
