The main theme of the Kyoto City Zoo is a “familiar and enjoyable zoo.” The word “familiar” in the theme has 2 meanings. The first meaning is that Kyoto City Zoo is located in the center of Kyoto and the second is the closeness of the animals and customers. The word “Enjoyable” is a message for both animals and customers.

Kyoto-no-mori
Kyoto-no-mori opened in September, 2015. It is an exhibition where you can learn about the relationship between natural animals and humans. The exhibition provides information about nature and it helps you to learn about the conservation of the natural environment.

The exhibition room has exhibits of old animals that lived in the park. There are skeletons and stuffed animals.
