Kyoto municipal museum of art is located close to Heian Jingu Shrine. Various exhibitions, including ones from overseas, are held throughout the year. This is the largest museum to enjoy modern and contemporary art in the Kansai area.

Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art is a big museum right in front of Heian Jingu Shrine. In 2015 they had a Louvre exhibition, in 2016 they had an exhibition of the works of Ito Jakuchu, a mid-Edo period painter. You can see all kinds of paintings, so art fans really need to go to this museum!
