Story & Recommendation
A garden surrounded by the dense forests of the Okazaki area
Murin-an is a vacation house that was completed by Yamagata Aritomo in 1896.
The location in which Murin-an was built is a incredibly calm and quiet, hence the name Murin-an, meaning "calm" in Japanese. Murin-an consists of a two-story omoya (main room), tea house, and western-style house.
Yamagata Aritomo loved Murin-an and he and his wife would often visit this vacation home of theirs when they were busy.
