Yoga has become very popular in Japan lately, and many yoga studios offer lessons in order for you to cleanse your body and soul, and also make you fitter in the process. Most yoga studios are in tall concrete buildings, and they’re very modern. But not Studio BiNDU, located close to Heian Shrine in Kyoto! It’s in a traditional machiya townhouse, and right from the moment you step in you’ll feel relaxed. As you have an experienced yoga teacher teaching you, the classes at Studio BiNDU are easy to join even for beginners. The instructions are both in English and Japanese, so you are can relaxingly enjoy the soothing and purifying power of yoga!

This yoga class is held in a machiya townhouse in a suburban area, so you can feel completely at ease here. Feeling the wooden floor under your bare feet is a special kind of relaxing feeling.
Before the lesson, there is mantra chanting. This will make you feel relaxed and prepared for the lesson. The words are in English and Japanese.

If you want to do yoga more often, consider buying a class pass, as this will be cheaper. Besides two different member`s passes, unique to Studio BiNDU is class pass for travelers that is valid for one year! And not just foreign visitors, but any Japan resident outside of Kansai as well!

Although when doing the yoga, I felt very tired, but because of the expert posture and meditation instructions, after the lesson I felt completely relaxed. When walking on the streets of Kyoto, I felt slim and graceful! The yoga-experience lets you leave the bustle and hustle of the city behind you, and enjoy a completely relaxing and soothing yoga moment.
