Story & Recommendation
Adorn an authentic Japanese wedding kimono in this unforgettable experience
LST is a wedding planner, based in the heart of Kyoto, Shijo Kawaramachi, who specializes in traditional Japanese weddings. Unlike regular Kimono rental shops, LST uses only extraordinarily high quality bridal kimono and offers pre-wedding photo shoots in their “Photo Wedding Plan.” The kimono available in these plans are all specially chosen by LST’s representative, Taniguchi, who accepts only the “truly best” quality wedding gowns. If you were to purchase one of these specially selected wedding kimono, one gown could cost you anywhere from a few hundred thousand yen to over a million yen. However, as all the kimono are owned and managed by LST, you can enjoy wearing them for a fraction of the price in one of LST’s photo shoots, which start at \150,000. In addition to the pre-wedding photo shoot mentioned above, LST also offers support for all aspects of your special day. This, of course, includes holding wedding ceremonies at shrines and temples and receptions at traditional Japanese and non-traditional restaurants. On top of that, they also offer coordination of the bride and groom’s attire, flower arrangement, arrangement of professional photographers, guest accommodation and wedding favors, as well as, venue guides for the guests. We highly recommend LST to anyone with even the slightest interest in having a traditional Japanese wedding or even just a photo shoot in Kyoto.
Pick your favorite as you browse the vast array of luxury kimono.
You will first get the opportunity to discuss your dress preferences and photo shoot locations with an LST staff member in their gorgeous meeting area. Then, it’s the exciting part, choosing your kimono. Try holding back your excitement as you browse LST’s huge selection of beautiful bridal kimono. LST’s staff will take into consideration the season, current trends, and what personally suits you, when they suggest kimono, so feel free to share all your ideas and preferences with them, as they’re there to help you find that perfect one.
Sit back, relax and have your wedding hair and makeup done.
Once you’ve decided your kimono, next is hair and makeup. LST usually do customers’ hair in a western style (as pictured above); however, they are also happy to comply with any wishes you may have. So if you have a specific image in mind, feel free to let them know. The dressing of both the bride and groom is included in hair and makeup, so all up it can take around two hours. That may feel long, but because LST’s staff take their time, the final product is absolutely phenomenal. Experience the outstanding capabilities of these professional Japanese stylists for yourself!
Hop in a chauffeured hire car and head straight to your favorite sightseeing spots.
After hair and makeup, hop in a hire car with your family (*passenger limit applies) and head to your favorite spots. (Photo shoots are possible at multiple locations, and all travel will be done via a chauffeured hire car) Being chauffeured around while draped in a beautiful kimono is guaranteed to make you feel like a star. Chatting with the planner as you ride around is also a great part of this experience. They don’t mind what you want to talk about and urge you not to be shy.
Enjoy a professional photo shoot at great sightseeing spots.
Once you’ve arrived, its photo shoot time. You’ll get the opportunity to have plenty of photos taken from all different angles. The number differs depending on the plan, but at the end you’ll receive data of over 100 photos from the shoot. The photo above was taken at Higashiyama’s “Ippon Bridge”, a famous spot for photo shoots in Kyoto
