Uruwasiki kimono rental shop only serves 20 customers per day! A tailor-made kimono experience near Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto!
Located near Fushimi Inari Shrine (Fushimi Inari Taisha in Japanese), Uruwasiki kimono shop only serves 20 guests per day and each group is restricted to a maximum of 6 persons. You can enjoy the elegant space and choose your very own kimono for the day. They have professional staff at hand to help you put on the kimono, and they even style your hair for you, if you so wish. You can enjoy this very Japanese experience without any distractions, as they don’t overbook at Uruwasiki, so you have the room all for yourself (or you and your friends). And they do have many kinds of kimonos for you to choose from, from summery yukatas to wedding kimonos, there’s almost everything. They even have kimonos for kids!

Different kind of kimonos
At Uruwasiki they have over 200 kimonos for you to choose from, so if you so wish, you can have a really dazzling and flashy one, but they of course have many high-quality kimonos for those with more mature tastes too. The kimono rental also includes the obi sash and the other things you need to enjoy a kimono, like the lanyards and bags, which all have to be Japanese-style so they fit with the kimono. If you don’t know what kimono to choose, just ask the staff and they’ll gladly help you. The basic plan is 5,000 yen plus tax.

Using a white fabric and a string and be covered by layers and layers, it looks like a very complicated method of dressing. But under the dressing technique of the experienced professional teacher, the gorgeous dressing ritual is completed in a short time. The use of a butterfly bow tied around the back of the waistband adds a lovely touch to the kimono.

Take a stroll to Fushimi Inari Shrine
Fushimi Inari Shrine is famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates, so it’s the perfect place to go to when wearing a kimono. You could even live out scenes from “Memoirs of Geisha!” There are also many street vendors on the way to the shrine if you get a bit peckish.

They have a limit of 20 guests per day, so booking online is recommended. In addition, they also offer wedding dress and kimono photoshoots. You can have your wedding photos taken at such Kyoto-like locations as the Bamboo Grove of Arashiyama! Ask them for more information.

In winter they provide you with “kairo,” a type of Japanese heat pack, and in summer they offer you cooling gel pads. All included in the price!

I have been to many kimono rental shops in Kyoto, but this was the most fun I’ve had choosing my kimono, hairstyle, and makeup! And it was all done in a relaxing atmosphere without hurry! They only accept a maximum of 20 people a day, so it felt like a real VIP-experience! You can also take photos with Kaji, a Shiba Inu, who is so cute! I truly enjoyed my kimono experience here.
