Story & Recommendation
A select shop under the theme of “long life design”, design that continues to be loved since the olden days.
D&Department Kyoto was created by Kenmei NAGAOKA, a chairman of D&DEPARTMENT PROJECT and a professor at Kyoto University of Art and Design, along with students. The central theme is [long life design]. They pick up products that have been used and loved by people for many years. Identifying their unique characteristics, new products are made to enhance their lives of people today. The store also offers products made in Kyoto such as soy sauce, sesame oil, and pickles that do not have any additives.

Their nostalgia reminds us of the olden days. The designs of Japanese sake tokkuri and soy sauce containers are really simple, and they are continually loved from the past to now.

Food Items
Almost all food items do not have additives. KINSE’s non-additive pickles, which are difficult to find in major shops, and SHIBAKYU’s non-additive pickles are also available. Soy sauce and sesame oil are also sold. The sesame-oil has a rare color; the sesame seeds are clear while the oil is light brown. These sesame oil’s taste is really fantastic! Please try it since they are the perfect for souvenir from Kyoto.
