Japanese traditional cloth with a wide range of uses
Eiraku-ya hosotsuji-Ihee Syoten is specialized in cloth products for over 400 years in Kyoto. Both Tenugui (hand towel) and Furoshiki (wrapping cloth) that are the most popular items are really Japanese traditional. These manufactures have several uses, such as a hand bag, a scarf and more useful things. A staff in the shop tells you how to use them and you can buy the cloth that can be a hand bag and so on. The patterns of items are so unique! The patterns that Maiko-san is on Shinkansen are so interesting and funny. They could be hanging on the wall with frame like a picture. In addition, the items that are made by its cloth are offered, too! These includes Japanese fin (Sensu) and Gamaguchi (purse) are really traditional. Although Kyoto Station is extremely modern building, you will feel at historical ambience in Kyoto inside the shop.
Tenugui Maiko-san series / ￥1728 ~
It is really funny that Maiko-san is on Shinkansen isn’t it!? The pattern that they are on Shinkansen is one of the popular clothes in the shop. It can be used for wrapping a tissue box, your lunch boxes, and a bottle of wine. Of course you could use as a towel or a handkerchief. We highly recommend you to display in your room in order to be Japanese surrounding.
Furoshiki cloth (large) / ￥3,996 ~
Basically, you use it for wrapping something you want. Its size is 106cm ×106cm. Most items can be held. A staff will performance how to make a bag that is mainly 3 ways, flower bag, ring bag, and leaf bag. Try to ask a staff to hold a furoshiki to be a bag!

Gamaguchi (traditional Japanese coin purse) / ￥4,104
Japanese traditional and modern animals and other patterned coin purses are displayed. You wouldn’t decide what you buy immediately because there are a super wide range of patterns. Small purses are also available for ￥2,052. All items are made with tenugui cloth.

Gauze tenugui cloth / ￥3,456 (long size)
It is highly recommended for wearing as a scarf. In summer, please wrap your neck when you get sweat and also use it as a sun visor. The texture is so soft that you feel really good.
