Keibunsha Ichijoji Store is an independent bookshop that sells books and goods with its original selection. Unlike large book stores having new and best-selling books as their main selection, each book in Keibunsha is chosen by the staff with their all hearts. Inside the shop, the books are displayed based on particular themes and concepts, so that visitors can enjoy encountering new books of their interests while browsing in the bookshop. Despite its location a little away from the city center, the bookshop always attracts book lovers form home and overseas as well as the locals. They all seem to enjoy selecting books through humane communication with the staff. Keibunsha was chosen as one of the world’s best bookshops by the British quality paper the Guardians.
