Story & Recommendation
Delicate Japanese sweets exclusive in Kyoto Station
Established in 1945, Kogetsu has been creating an innovative Wagashi, Japanese sweets. There are many branches all over Japan and this shop is located in the Kyoto Station building. The name of the shop "Kogetsu" was named by a famous monk and it means that the company would be enriched abundantly. As their hit seller "Senju-senbei", a waffle with cream inside, lasts about a month and also very tasty, it would be a good souvenir!
Senju-senbei (organic Matcha flavor) / 6 pieces ￥648
This is a limited item only in Kyoto. It is like a cookie with a Matcha cream inside. What we like about this product was that they use an organic Matcha! It is sweet but still feel the rich and light flavors of Matcha cream when you put it on your mouth. There are other flavors as well, but we recommend that you get this as you can only purchase in Kyoto!
Senju-senbei (organic Hojicha flavor) / 6 pieces ￥648
This is an organic Hojicha, roasted green tea, flavored cookie. Compared with organic Matcha flavor, this Senju-senbei has a chic and more bitter taste. However, the light cream and bitter organic roasted green tea mixed well and they give the delicate flavor after all. As it lasts about a month, you may enjoy it in your home country!
