A tsukemono specialty shop located very close to Heian Shrine. With several branch stores nationwide across Japan, here at the main store you can sample almost all of the different types of tsukemono offered within its spacious interiors. Using in-season vegetables procured from contracted farms throughout Japan, the tsukemono here is made from natural seasonings, without the use of any synthetic chemical additives. They offer unique tsukemono you won’t find anywhere else, so please sample the many different varieties, and we hope you will find a flavor that fits your tastes. Shibazuke / ¥648
A tsukemono made by pickling eggplant in shiso(perilla) and salt. With a mild acidity, very easy to eat. Goes well with rice as well as sake.
Kyotsukemono(Kyoto pickles) souvenir bags / ¥648
3 types of tsukemono packaged in drawstring bags decorated with a maiko(apprentice geisha) label. Since tsukemono will keep for about a month, it is perfect for souvenirs or gifts.

How to buy
The first thing to do is, to sample many different varieties of tsukemono, and find the flavors that you like. If you can’t decide what to get as a souvenir, we recommend buying assortment packages of tsukemono.
