Newly opened Pokémon Center in Kyoto
The must-see quality of this Pokémon Center is the interior with strong imagery of the legendary Pokémon, Ho-Oh and Lugia. Inside of the store, such as the walls, are black instead of white like most other Pokémon Centers. The ambiance of traditional city of Kyoto is reflected in the store, you may feel more of Japanese essence in Pokémon Center in Kyoto than any other locations.
Maikohan Pikachu / ￥2,400
To celebrate the grand opening of this Kyoto branch, you can find this adorable Pikachu wearing Kimono. Pikachu is dressed up like a maiko, catching Kyoto-like style. It’s definitely worth getting for you to add to your collection or for a memento of your trip in Kyoto.

The Pokémon Center sells snacks also! You can find cute Pokémon packages such as this one of Pikachu. You may want to consider keeping the boxes even if you finish eating them. There are other snacks as well consider getting some for yourself and for souvenirs.

Check out the array of Pokémon plushies! Pikachu remains one of the most popular plushies of all time. Every month, the “Monthly Pair Pikachu” is released. For June’s Monthly Pair Pikachu, two Pikachu are under an umbrella representing the rainy season. Definitely consider coming back again and again to see the new Monthly Pair Pikachu which changes every month.
